To quote Sandra Gustafson, author of Great Eats Paris (the 11th edition is just out and an excellent book for anyone wanting to know which Paris restaurants offer exceptional value), “…along with visits to the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Élysées, dining is almost always an integral part of any successful trip to Paris.” Our hotel served an excellent complimentary buffet breakfast with a good selection. It was a great way to start the day, and mix with fellow travelers who were eager to compare notes. Lunch was often a baguette or open-faced tartine, with cheese or cheese and tomatoes, plus café crème. Dinner varied - Japanese sushi, Moroccan couscous, vegetarian or traditional French cuisine. Lunch was usually under 10 euros, and with the exception of our big splurge, dinner was usually 20 euros
