Mother-in-law door

Not sure how politically correct this name is but it is what they call them in NL. Building codes state you must have a certain number outside doors but they don't say you have to use them. We saw the same sort of thing in rural Alberta when we lived there.

We had to backtrack somewhat on our way to the Irish Loop and Portugal Cove South because the “highway” we wanted to take was gravel.
