Built around the time of Napoleon to keep out the French. Eventually became a shipwreck museum but we didn't have time to tour it.

Guernsey The cruise ship can’t dock on this little island, so a tender pulls up to the side of the ship and up to 150 people cram into it for the short ride to shore. It was rough.
